Dressing for the 1970’s can be allot of fun. Some people have an array of 70’s inspired clothing that can make the dressing up a little easier. For those of us who have not hung onto old clothes and are and want to be a little more fashion forward can now buy 70’s fancy dress costumes. Whether you want to go as a cute disco girl or a full tree lovin hippy there are a heap of costumes to choose from. How about getting one for your partner? The last thing we want is him doing is turning up to the fancy dress party in an old pair of jeans and some old disgusting shirt; which is most likely what will happen if we don't organise it for him.

The 70’s was the revolution of disco inferno and the hippie, so why not join the era that brought us so many Icons and fashion forward moments.
If you don't want to go as just a hippy or just a disco girl then what about thinking of the musicians or movie stars of this time. The Beatles, who reached their peak during this decade is a great idea for a group of friends to do together or what about John Lennon and Yoko Ono? or how about ABBA?

The 70’s was also the peak for Glam rock, think tight Lycra jumpsuits, sequins and platforms, lovers of this movement were Mick Jagger and David Bowie.

Another costume idea for the 70’s is Pimp costumes, they are very popular choice for a 70s themed party. Pimp costumes are usually made from fabrics such as velvet or fur print, and patterns such as zebra and leopard print.

The biggest thing to happen in the late 70’s was the Punk. The world was never going to be the same and either was the fashion history. The punk trend can be a really fun costume idea for your next 70’s Fancy Dress party. How boring would it be if everyone came as a hippy.
To help accessorise your 70’s outfit think Austin Power glasses, Afro wigs, gogo boots, lennon glasses, peace glasses and necklaces, and basically anything bright coloured.
